Photographer Danton McDiffett is currently presenting his exhibition Memories on metal in Gallery 708 of the Salina Public Library until October 17.

A reception for the artist will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on October 7.

Memories on metal depicts visually stunning images of nature, local Salina landscapes and more. The photos are printed on metal which gives the pieces a striking look. McDiffett, a Salina Public Library worker, enjoys using photography as a way to share his journey through life with others.

“If anyone finds joy or inspiration in my photos, I’ve achieved what I was aiming for with every photo I take and share with the world,” McDiffett said.

Currently living in Salina, he has spent most of his life in Kansas surrounded by the natural beauty Kansas has to offer. As a public school teacher for more than 30 years, McDiffett took thousands of photos of student activities, but now, recently retired, he looks forward to more time to explore new landscapes and search for more eye-catching photographic opportunities.

The public is invited to view the exhibition during library hours: 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday .
