Open call for photographers for the 2022 Township of Russell Photography Exhibition

The Township of Russell invites amateur, amateur and professional photographers to submit their images for the Township of Russell Photography Exhibit!

This year’s theme is “Hometown Future”. The township wants photographers to think about where they might imagine where their hometown is heading. What has changed, what is changing and what will always remain the same? Who will be part of the future of our hometown? How to visually represent both nostalgia and imagination? Where does history meet progress in Russell Township?

Submissions and participation in this event are free. Five images submitted for review by an independent jury made up of critical curators, professionals in the field and local artistic leaders. One winner from each of the following categories will have their image printed and displayed as outdoor public art in the township!

Categories include:

  • Best Young (18 and Under)
  • Best Portrait
  • Best Scenery
  • Best Experimental

The deadline for submission is Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

The Submission Expo will take place during Russell Art At Night on September 10, 2022.

Anyone from Canada can enter this contest, but all images must have been taken in the Russell Township Boundaries. A map of the town limits is available at,
